How quickly can we get started?
Same day. Sign up, invite your first SME, and schedule a voice session — there's no complex onboarding or IT setup required. Most teams run their first interview within 24 hours of signing up.
Do our operators need any technical training?
No. The interface is deliberately simple — your expert opens a link on their phone, taps a button, and starts talking. The AI handles the structure. If they can make a phone call, they can do an interview.
What equipment or hardware do we need?
Just a smartphone. PLCScribe works in any modern mobile browser — iOS Safari and Android Chrome. No app download, no special microphone, no laptop needed on the shop floor.
Can we try it before committing to a paid plan?
Yes. Every new account receives a 45-day free trial with full access to all features on the Plant plan. No credit card is required to start.
Does it work in loud factory environments?
Yes. PLCScribe uses custom industrial audio processing that filters out background noise common in manufacturing environments — motor hum, conveyor belts, HVAC systems, and pneumatic equipment. It was built specifically for these conditions, not adapted from a consumer product.
What languages are supported?
40+ languages are supported for both capture and chatbot queries. The system automatically detects the language being spoken and can produce output documentation in your preferred language. Spanish, Mandarin, French, Portuguese, and German are commonly used in our customer base.
How long does a typical interview session run?
Most sessions are 30–90 minutes. Sessions can be paused between shifts and resumed. There is no time limit on a single session, and one session can cover multiple pieces of equipment or procedures.
Can I edit the transcript or generated document after the session?
Yes. After each session, you receive an editable draft document. The supervisor review step (maker-checker workflow) is specifically designed for this — reviewers can correct, annotate, and approve before anything reaches the shop floor.
Is my operational data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and in transit. PLCScribe is SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR compliant, and enforces 2FA for all user accounts. Your interview data is never used to train any shared AI models.
Which regulatory frameworks does PLCScribe support?
PLCScribe documentation is built to meet OSHA 2026, FSMA 204 (food traceability), FDA 21 CFR Part 11 (pharma), GMP / ALCOA++ data integrity, ISO 9001, and GDPR. The Plant plan includes all frameworks; Starter covers OSHA.
Where is our data stored?
Data is stored on AWS in US-East by default. EU data residency is available on Enterprise plans for GDPR-sensitive deployments. We do not share or sell customer data to any third party.
Can workers request their interview data be deleted?
Yes. Workers have full GDPR rights — including data portability and the right to erasure. Deletion requests are processed through the Privacy Center within 30 days, with confirmation provided.
What counts as one interview?
One interview = one structured voice session with one SME, regardless of length. A 90-minute session covering three machines counts as one interview. There is no per-minute or per-document charge.
Can I roll over unused interviews to the next month?
Yes. Unused interviews roll over for up to 3 months. This gives seasonal operations flexibility around maintenance windows and planned shutdowns.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account moves to read-only mode. All documents and transcripts remain accessible for 90 days after cancellation, giving you time to export everything. No data is permanently deleted until after that window.
